Lives in Transition is a curriculum based mentoring and development program  designed to equip youth with the resources, skills and confidence necessary to excel in all aspects of life. With the right resources, support, knowledge, and opportunity our youth can lay the foundation today for the life they want to live tomorrow.

We must all be reminded that our lives are always in transition. Each decision, action, and choice can either enhance our quality of life or diminish it. This is also true for our youth. They are consistently challenged to succeed—in spite of many social and economic barriers.

Our approach to mentoring is holistic in nature. We believe that it is as important to foster strong families and communities as it is to feed the individual mind. We believe that with the right guidance and support all children are capable of reaching heights that they never thought possible.  Therefore, Lives in Transition programs are designed to actively include the family and community at-large.

We know that it truly takes a village to raise a child and we set about the business of laying a solid foundation with this thought in mind. We aren’t naïve enough to believe that the work which lies before us can be done alone. We call upon the family, business leaders, community activist, political leaders, teachers, local churches and many more to reach and teach our future leaders. Exposure to things outside of one’s immediate surroundings will broaden a child’s mind and feed one’s desire towards lifelong learning. We provide a broad range of enrichment programs and events by working with valued expert and professional partners.

We offer several state-of-the-art services including but not limited to tutoring, mentoring, career training, computer education, and access to recreational activities. We have also discovered that proper nutrition is as powerful a tool as any in reaching our youth. It’s almost impossible to receive any message worth hearing over the rumblings of an empty stomach. Thus, we have made nutrition and environmental responsibility a significant arm of our curriculum. Additionally, we deem it important for the youth of our community to give back through community service efforts of their own. “It has been said that to whom much is given, much is expected.”  We want our future leaders to learn early in life that there is much to be gained through service to others.
